What has happened to Galen's Garden?
A few things have happened since Galen's Garden was first built 20 years ago.
- The number of pages on the site has grown to over 500 and the site was entirely hand built
- The nature of the Internet has changed and search engine optimisation is now a major factor.
- Specialist Ltd has expanded the Galen's Range considerable in 2010
- We've found a great, consistent, source of top quality UK hay in The Hay Company
- The sites are now database driven which makes them easier to manage.
- The new system allows us to safely off free mini sites to breeders, clubs, rescues, shows & vets.
Where have all the pages gone?
- Rabbit Information is now on the Rabbit Information site.
- Guinea Pig information is on the Guinea Pig Information site
- Chinchilla & Degu pages have moved to the Chinchilla & Degu site
- Herbs & Homoeopathy have a new Herbs & Homoeopathy site
- Hay, dietary fibre and forage information is now on the Herbal Hay site
- Vegetable monographs are on our new Dried Vegetable site
Where is the Directory?
- Having people keep their own directory listings up to date simply wasn't working
- So many of the directory listings contained dead links that we've decided to build our own
- The directory will now be split over the following domains
- Rabbit Breeders
- Rabbit Clubs
- Rabbit Rescues
- Rabbit Shows
- Rabbit Vets
- Cavy Breeders
- Cavy Clubs
- Cavy Rescue
- Cavy Vet
- Guinea Pig Shows
- Free mini sites are available on all these domains for those who's activities are relevant.
- The free mini sites will be subject to certain terms and conditions as follows:
- Users must be bona fide breeders, clubs, rescues, shows or vets
- Users must provide enough information to warrant at least a single page site
- Content must be suitable for all ages including children
