If you did not have an existing email address when you became a member, your confirmation of application will have been sent to Belinda. As this contains your chosen password, Belinda will use this to set up your new email address and mini web site. You will then be sent a letter confirming these details so you can log on to your Directory Listing
If you had an existing email address, then the application confirmation will have been sent to you and Belinda will not be able to use it to set up your new email address and web site. Instead, you will be emailed your password for email and mini web site access at your existing address.
Once logged in, you can change your password for email, mini web site or directory listing.
Type in the domain name where your email address is situated but add :2095 to
the email address.
For example if your user name is 'testing' and the site your email address is on
is www.web-site-name.co.uk then your email address is
testing@web-site-name.co.uk so you should go to http://www.web-site-name.co.uk:2095
There you should type in your full email address testing@web-site-name.co.uk in the User name box and your email password in the Password box to access your email. (See illustration)
To receive your emails in Outlook Express or other mail client, go to Tools/Accounts/Add/Mail and type your email address in full, for example testing@web-site-name.co.uk when asked for the name. POP3 and SMTP is mail. ( that is mail dot . ) followed by the domain name. For example mail.cavy-rescue.co.uk
When you have completed the wizard to add the new email address to Outlook Express, click on Tools/Accounts again and select the email address by highlighting it. Click on Properties and go to the Server tab. Here you should tick the box which says "My server requires authentication".
Test your email by sending an email to yourself.
We have had too many problems with iProsite so are changing over to a new system to allow you to access your site - when I find one. Email me for ftp access to your site in the meantime. Apologies for the inconvenience. I have recently been setting up Wordpress blogs for those people wanting an easy to manage free site. See the Rabbit Breeders example.
I've finally got at least one template I am happy with for Wordpress latest version which works with the widgets, and will soon be adding tutorials on how to use it. Meanwhile, there are tutorials on http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Lessons
The template we provide is based on the one we use on our sites and is based on PHP. While that makes managing the site very easy for me, you would not normally be able to view the site as you edit it on your computer. However - thanks to Uniform Server, you can now see the effect of your editing on a Windows PC by downloading a copy of Uniform server and placing a copy of the unzipped template in the www folder of the Uniform Server folder. No installation required.
Go to the Editing the Template page for more detailed information
