The Galen's Shop is broken so I've password protected it while I rebuild it.  Apologies for the inconvenience.  Please email any order requests through via the contact form in the meantime or phone if urgent.  I have a programmer moving the old shop data to a newer version of the system on Friday so hopefully we'll be up and running again over the weekend.

Lotions and potions

Lotions & Potions

Galens Garden have been producing liquid and powdered herbal blends for rabbits and guinea pigs for over 20 years using mainly the herbs they would eat in the wild.

Our new range of creams & gels use herbal infusions of Hedgerow Herbs, chickweed, nettle & calendula.  All Galen's Garden's creams, gels, blended herbal tinctures and syrups now come in colour coded bottles for easy of use, and because they're pretty!

Healthy herbivore diet

Herbivore Diet

Rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and degus all need a diet high in long, indigestible (lignified) fibre to keep their teeth and digestive system healthy

In the wild, herbivores would spend most of their waking hours munching away at plant materials such as grasses and wild plants.  Their natural diet is a 'slow food' diet.  A bowl of rabbit muesli is the equivalent of a fast food diet.

Growing Grass

Graze Trays

Graze Trays are an easy way to provide rabbits and guinea pigs with fresh grass all year round.  Galen's Garden offer a wide range of Graze Trays including individual grasses, Galen's Meadow Mix, sainfoin, clover, fenugreek, kale, oat grass, wheat grass, barley grass, spelt grass, alfalfa, individual herbs and vegetables.

The grass trays can be grazed then allowed to recover and produce new growth. They will also 'stand' for weeks or months on end providing a natural larder of fresh food on tap

Herbs for Rabbits

Wild rabbits not only eat a healthy diet of fresh grass, they also have access to a wide variety of wild plants which they can eat to balance out their diet and keep themselves healthy.

When we keep rabbits in captivity we remove them from both their natural diet and the herbs they would naturally eat if they were in any way unwell.  Providing rabbits with a range of herbs that they can choose to eat, or refuse, gives  them the opportunity to balance their own diet according to their needs..

Chinchillas nibbling treats

Chinchilla Treats

Fruits of the Forest is a specially designed 'low-sugar', 'high-fibre' chinchilla treat with wild berries & tree shoots to satisfy the foraging instincts of pet chinchillas.

Chinchillas and degus also relish our Edible Flowers, Berry Burritos, and Aunt Sally's crunchy Grassy Logs, all which are also suitable for rabbits and guinea pigs.

Look out for our Wood N Rope toys too!

Guinea Pig Grooming

New Piggy Poo guinea pig conditioning shampoo is made from an infusion of Hedgerow Herbs with essential oils of Bog Myrtle and Fragonia especially designed for guinea pig skin and coat.  There's also Piglet Poo with no essential oils for sows after a messy labour or babies from 6 weeks - not that babies should get grubby with mama pig grooming them!

We also have Boar Bottom Balm for gentle cleansing of the grease spot and Dry Poo 'dust bath' style shampoo for greasy coats.

London Show

The London Pet Show was hard work but we got to spend time with the lovely people at the RWAF and Chinformative and chat to lots of new customers.

Rebranding

Galen's Garden has been rebranded so it fits better with its new sister company Grobug Ltd.  Grobug is aimed at people who want to grow their own food in small spaces and includes products of interest to Galen's Garden's customers such as automatic sprouter, hydroponics, composting and vertical gardening.

New Products

Our latest products for rabbits and guinea pigs include Graze Trays and Forage Seed to enable rabbit and guinea pig owners to grow their own fresh grass, cereal grasses, herbs and vegetables for their pets.

In addition to our new guinea pig shampoos Piggy Poo, Piglet Poo, Dry Poo and Boar Bottom Balm, we've added some more creams & gels to the range: Chickweed Cream, Calendula Cream, Swedish Bitters Cream, Berry Balm, Aloe Silver Gel and reformulated Green Cream and Oral Gel to use the new bases.

We're also experimenting with a new range of toys and treats including Berry Burritos and Wood N Rope toys suitable for rabbits and chinchillas.

Broken Shop

Apologies to all of you who've come here after seeing us at the London Pet Show.  On returning from the show on Saturday we became aware that recent updates had affected the checkout and then on Monday when I tried to fix the shop I broke it so badly it now has to be rebuilt. At least we'll then have the latest version!

We hope to be back online with the shop by Monday21st May

Meanwhile here's the price list and the brochure in pdf format.
