VALERIAN

Latin Name: Valeriana officinalis
Family: Valerianaceae
Height: 90-120cm

Valerian is a safe, non addictive, relaxant that reduces nervous tension and promotes restful sleep. Its effect is calming rather than sedative. Its relaxant properties are particularly useful for easing over-contracted shoulder and neck muscles, in asthma, colic and muscle spasm.

Constituents: olatile oils, iridoids, alkaloids.

Actions: Sedative, relaxant, relieves anxiety, anti spasmodic, lowers blood pressure.
