Welcome to Galen's Garden

Delicious herbs for rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and degus

New products for 2011

The existing range of herbs has been extended to include more whole herbs, including many organically grown and dried in the UK especially for Galens Garden.  We've added herb, hay and grass pellets and continue to source new products for your rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and degus.

Organic Yarrow and Marshmallow leaf have been added to the shop already and the Organic Plantain has been sent to us in two distinct batches - one is leafy, darker than normal and very sweet smelling - a bit like banana - I suspect it has a high level of natural sugars in it so feed sparingly as a tasty treat.  The other is stalky, with lots of seed heads, and would be great tied into bunches.

Waiting to go into the shop after this week's stock check are regular (long chop) and whole organic alfalfa plus regular marshmallow leaf whole.

Due in September 2011 - a wide range of whole wild crafted dried herbs from Bulgaria.   These will include your usual favourites, ribwort (longleaf) & broadleaf plantain, nettles, raspberry leaf, blackberry leaf, and lemon balm, together with some new delicacies including wild strawberry leaf, black mulberry leaf, coltsfoot leaf, agrimony herb, shepherd's purse herb, chicory herb, melilot herb, chickweed herb, and cornsilk.

2011 Word Search Competition Winner

Our Wordsearch competition with £100 worth of Galen's Garden's goodies (and postage) as the prize, has been won by Heather Deeprose of Aberdeen.

Revamp

Yes - Belinda is revamping the sites yet again.  Some of the sites have been neglected as we had a very busy winter with our other sites selling ice grips due to the harsh winter.  The Breed, Club, Rescue and Show sites are being rebuilt prior to the next winter onslaught so individuals can have their own site, not just a listing, and will be able to communicate with one another by way of social networking.

The main Galen's Garden site is also due for a makeover together with better menus linking all the sites more seamlessly.  We will be adding links to the herb monologues on the Herbs and Homoeopathy site from all the individual herb pages in the shop.

The planning and testing for this major upgrade has been very time consuming but we've also had another distraction...  our daughter Bex gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Logan, on April Fool's day this year.  As they've moved just down the road from us, we've spent a fair bit of time baby sitting!

Social Networking

Belinda has set up a new Facebook page which is currently a tad neglected, but it is part of the new revamp and more will be announced here soon.  There will also be a new blog.  This will contain the random snippets of information currently only in Belinda's head, which don't have a place in the existing sites.
